Barbara, 5th Grade Special Education Teacher
Jessica works tirelessly behind the scenes to help our school find reading curriculum that meets the unique needs of an emotional/behavioral school population of students reading at least 2 years behind grade level. She was creative in her approach to find our school curriculum that is aligned with the science of reading and matches the needs of our students in reading, comprehension, and spelling.

Our 8 year old son, William, has been working with Jessica for one year. With Jessica's systematic, research-based approach, tailored specifically to William, he has made tremendous strides in his literacy and reading skills. Just as importantly, William looks forward to each session (even after school and on weekends) and now confidently reports that reading and writing are his favorite school subjects. Jessica is warm, kind and attentive with William and her support has been indispensable in helping us to pinpoint his particular reading challenges and navigate a path to significant improvement. We could not be more pleased with our decision to work with Jessica!
1st/2nd Grade Special Education Teacher
Jessica has incredible expertise and insight in to implementing new ELA curriculum. She was an integral part in helping me establish various reading workshops ideas. Jessica's ability to tailor to the varying levels of learners using a multisensory lens has been instrumental in my students' progress. She has a solid understanding and background of supporting students with varying degrees of trauma and behavioral history. Her hands-on guidance and support in facilitating the needs of diverse learners has been invaluable. Jessica is collaborative and consistently willing to lend a helping hand to staff and students. I greatly appreciate her hands-on guidance and support.

I have learned so much from Jessica about how to be a better teacher for young learners and struggling readers of all ages! I recently changed roles from working with mostly older students to a mix of students from all grade levels, and I felt overwhelmed and out of my league until Jess started consulting with me. She helped me structure lessons to engage young learners and build their literacy skills, and she offered concrete suggestions based on her own extensive experience working with students. She also recommended books and activities for my older students who struggle with reading fundamentals. Jess clearly has a strong knowledge base in the science of reading, and that combined with her experience working with a variety of students allows her to share the perfect combination of theory and practice that all educators need to improve our teaching practice.

Jessica is an amazing Reading Specialist who has been working with our 7-year old daughter. She has helped her "unlock the code" to reading over the last year, keeping her engaged, and working through her frustrations. Jessica is kind, flexible, has epic patience, and keeps us informed throughout the whole process.
